Wouldn’t life be much easier if it were like that? Just white or black… but it’s the gray between that makes everything so complicated…

I have some bad news… the project is going to stop here. When the project started I created it under the promise to create art and share it with you. But lately all I do is just taking photos. I’m not able to put my heart and soul into my photo, my muse is gone :-( And without that there’s no reason in taking photos for me. I could train a monkey to my photos lately. So I decided to stop the project and put it on halt.

At the moment my life isn’t going very well… work sucks, private thing sucks, everything kinda sucks… I’m doing things only because I can do them, not because I want to. And the things I want to do are the things I can’t do :-( If I would do the things I want to do I would be about 10.000km east of here eating lunch in Kobe right now. And not sitting in front of my Mac typing this post and getting ready to go to work…

I got my second depressive episode this year… It make me realize I have to change something in my life. Something big. Change isn’t easy. Or doable in a short period of time. But I’m going to do it. I have to do it. And this will be the beginning…
Now it’s time for me to do the things I want to do. Pursue my dreams. Some of them are still nearly unreachable. But nothing is impossible if you can imagine it!

Don’t be sad, I’ll still post photos on my flickr photostream, and I’ll be active on twitter timeline and my tumblr blog. I still want to share my photos, my thoughts, and much more with you. There will be other projects, but most likely not on a daily basis.

Thank you for so much support and nice words! All of you are like a second family for me! Thank you so much for being there, even the hard times. I will be around (on twitter, flickr, tumblr etc.) even if I’m not as visible as usual.

Another “loneliness” picture… even though it was shot at a really happy occasion! I shot photos at a co-workers wedding (“Standesamt” only). Only bad thing was that I realized that I suck at shooting people! (that might be misunderstood…).

This was the “marriage ceremony” room. The 70s called, they want their style back! Hideous green carpet with whit plastic chairs… so strange that it might get really stylish very soon :-D

I edited the photo until it got that unrealistic strange look. I love it! I hope you too…

I had to pickup a parcel at a “DHL Packstation” three metro stops from my home. So I thought I should take my camera and tripod with me ;-)

After I was told about my pictures symbolizing Loneliness I was thinking… and I’m still thinking about it :-/ At least I can channel me innermost feelings into my photos and people get me. What more can a photographer ever ask from his audience?

In the parcel was 2 new books! “Shutter Island” by ‘Dennis Lehane’ and “Core Data – Apple’s API for Persisting Data on Mac OS X” by ‘Marcus S. Zarra’. Don’t know which one I’m going to read first, but I’m thinking Core Data will win :-D

This is the first english book I ever read ‘on my own’ and not at school or something… it’s “Hannibal” by ‘Thomas Harris’. That was 1999. How time flies by…

First day at work after a week… and all my undone work waited for my, how nice! :-D

I you believe it or not, that is my kitchen lamp! While wandering through IKEA with @L0453 and then he saw that lamp (called KRYP). He told my that he’s going to buy it for me if I hang it somewhere in my apartment. Well, that’s the story of my great fish lamp :-D

Almost finished “We”, only 90 pages left. Quite enough till tuesday when 3 new books arrive ;-) But maybe I’m reading “Rashomon” by ‘Ryūnosuke Akutagawa’ again. Even though I have 5 or 6 unfinished books at the moment, some of them standing on my bookshelf for over a year!

Went to the movies to see “Shutter Island” and it was one of the best movies I’ve seen for a long time! Ordered the book almost immediately ;-)

As you can see it’s a photo of a picture. Normally I won’t allow something like this on the project, but it’s something I want to share with you. It’s a ink drawing of Heidelberg made by my grandfather. I never really met him in person because he died when I was only 1 or 2 years old. All that connect me with him are his drawings. I got five of them in my apartment. He’s kinda my connection to the arts. And I love his drawings. Many times they were inspiring me so that’s why I wanted to share them with you. Hope you like it!

This is a printed japanese seal of a Sake bottle I bought at the Tokyo Narita Airport last October. So many things remembering me of Japan everyday…

Jjapanese seals (Hanko 判子) are used since 57 AD. First used only by the emperor it was later (around 570 AD) adopted by noble people and used commonly by samurai in the middle-ages.

The two times I visited Japan I always thought about getting one for myself, but I don’t know exactly what kanji I should use…

An experimental shot to try something new. It’s not a good one, too much light/reflections and there are too many wine splashed against the inner wall of the glass during pouring. But I like it!

Afterwards some cleanup in PS and heavy editing in LR.

A close-up of one of my Stormtrooper action figures. It’s more like a “I don’t know what to shoot today so I use something on my desk” kind of a shot…

The turned chest isn’t as visible as I wanted it to be. I’m not really satisfied with the shot, but it’s ok.

Nothing inspirational today, most of the time I played PS3 or wrote code for iPhone apps.

The sun is out there… but it’s hidden.. being blocked by your own blinds! Don’t we all have blinds blocking things out there?

And another one… I shot 6 different photos of the 2 flowers I bought some days ago. A great example that there are so many beautiful photos around you, only problem is that you don’t see them yet.

Nothing really creative yet. Most of the day I was either developing some Objective-C or playing PS3. At least I finished inFamous today ^^ And I read a chapter in ‘We’.

It snowed again… after 3 weeks of “acceptable” weather! At least it’s not my turn to shovel the snow this week ;-)

I took one of my shoes and created that footprint on the table on my balcony. Handheld 105mm and afterwards editing in LR with some cleanup in PS.

Watched ‘Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxies’ today… I really have to read the book again!

Macro shots are kinda tricky. They often reveal things you wouldn’t want to show up on a ‘normal’ photo. You see here the texture of my “print box” where I keep my 10×15 prints from analogue photography (until I got something to archive the prints). I think it’s supposed to look like crocodile leather, but it’s just embossed plastic ;-) You see scratches and imperfectness.

Actually, while writing this description I came to the conclusion that this could be a good example for how things loose there perfection when you go close to it, just like people. The more you know about someone the more your “image” about them will fail to be perfect. But just like that box most of the time I don’t even bother. Nothing is perfect in life. Even me ;-)

It’s nearly 8 AM and I’m still at home… but sleeping longer than usual was a good idea, I feel a little bit better. But now I really should get up and go to work. Next week I got 4 free days *hooray* \o/

Still sick… I got a cold or something :-( So I decided to take a shot of something related to it. Because Day 8 was already a shot of pills I took this one. These are paper tissues. I sneeze a lot so I need them ;-)

Edited in LR just a little bit (temperature and cropping). It’s fascinating how the background has become light blue because there’s nothing light blue there!

Haven’t finished “We” by ‘Yevgeny Zamyatin’ yet, but I’m half way through. Don’t really know if I like it yet. It’s great but also strange (and not the good strange sometimes).

I’m sick, that’s why there is a delay in publishing again…

This is a composition of 2 trivet I got for years but only using them rarely. Edited in LR to create a B/W “out-of-focus” style.

Nothing creative today, except about 7 hours of extra sleep…

I wrote about it before, but it’s the little thing sin life that really counts! Like this little Fujisan key fob I bought in Tokyo last year. There was a little bell inside driving me nuts sometimes but being reminded of Japan is always a good thing :-)
One of my “lifetime goals” is to climb up on Mount Fuji, but the 2 times I went to Japan it wasn’t the right season for climbing :-/ Maybe next time, or the time after that, or after that (you see I want to visit Japan some more times ^^).

Shot with tripod mounted 105mm. Lightning enhanced in LR/PS until it looked kinda unreal. I love how the shadow doesn’t seem to be the correct one for the mountain.
