Day 163

“Sushi”

Gosh, I looooooove sushi! Todays photo was hard because I was so hungry. I took the shot and ate all of the photo sujets before look over the shots ^^ so no 2nd try for me! But it was soooo delicious, even if I normally don’t spend 27 € for dinner ;-)

Bought at a sushi bar in Heidelberg I carried it home, rearranged it on my favorite (square) plate, added my chopsticks from Japan and a little soy sauce thingie. Set the plate on my black glass couch table. Shot with my 105mm, tripod mounted. Afterwards editing in LR.

  • i like the way you placed the "soy sauce thingie", the tilted angle adds something unexpected to the picture.
what seems to me rather unattractive/disturbing is the lack of focus on the sushi pieces themselves, only tuna looks kind of sharp. in my rather humble opinion, food should look sharp because our eyes are attracted to it automatically. or well, so blurry that it doesn't appear as food anymore :)
the reflections of the tiny plastic grass thing are cute :)
  • Got some 'sharpness issues' lately... not so happy with it or day 162 (unsharp hat on mirror) either. My 'aperture choosing ability' is really bad at the moment :-/
But as I wrote in the description, I ate it all before having a second chance to take the photo :-D But it's good that I found a 'weak spot' in my photography technique, so I can try to improve myself.

Maybe my first mini-project will be food-photography. I like the general concept of it but were never good at it.
