Day 116

“Dreams”

We all have dreams in our lives… and we need to preserve them. Dreams are but the illusion that we put upon ourselves to make this life in an unbearable world livable. If you live your dreams, you’ll never have to wake up. Preserve them. Defend them. Live them. By believing in your dreams you can make them into reality…

I’m really satisfied with todays photo. That’s not always the case. As the year 2009 comes to an end I’m thinking a lot about the past months and about my future. About my dreams, my goals in life, what I have achieved, where I’ve failed. Not everything makes me happy, many things make me really sad… I’m not the person for “new year resolutions” but this time I will make some. And not some like ‘I quit smoking’ and I start again after 2 weeks (just an example, I’m a non-smoker). And I will blog about them, so I can always see them. Something have to change in my life, and 2010 will be another attempt to come a step closer to my dreams!

Tripod mounted cam with 50mm (1/80sec f/3.5 ISO 500 + built-in flash). Used a dark coat as background. B/W conversion in LR. Enhanced brightness, Clarity and Blacks. Recovery increased for more details on the candle. Added a vignette to concentrate the view on the midpoint. Removed some details on the bottom with the brush feature.

  • You can be proud of this picture, it's not only beautiful but everyone can see a meaning to it. Where you see you dreams, I see a life, with someone protective who takes care of it, and get so much light and warmth from doing so...
  • Amazing photo, and great concept. Love the b/w too, although I wouldn't mind seeing a colour version of it. :)
  • thx! my 365 needs more color... i know :-D If I find some time in the next few days I will edit a colored version for you ;-)
  • Hehe, thank you! As you can see from my photos, I'm a bit of a colour freak. I love colours, especially when they're bright and bold. :)
Not to mention that my b/w photos usually suck. :P I like yours a lot though, you're really good. And it's not an easy thing.
