“The Divine Comedy”

I’m a little bit late again with my daily photo… You see here two pages of my copy of “The Divine Comedy”.

Sadly this weekend was full of distractions (best friend moved in together with his girlfriend and I helped, playing PS3, my apartment only consists of chaos etc.).

  • Wow. Who made the illustrations? And what Canto is that?
  • It's Purgatoria Canto XIII, but I'm only at Inferno Canto V so far... chose this particular location just because of the illustration.

    The wood engraving illustrations were done by Gustave Doré in my edition, they are really magnificent, I love such kind of engravings.
  • Oooh, so it's the classic Gustave Doré edition! I like it a lot. :)
    Inferno is by far the best part, by the way. It's my favourite part, at least.
